Dental X-rays are an important part of maintaining oral health. These images provide your dentist with information that cannot be seen during a regular exam. We will usually take X-rays of your teeth every other dental cleaning. Patients undergoing treatment for gum disease or trauma may get X-rays taken at every appointment to ensure the teeth and bones are healing properly. If this is your first visit to our office, we will take X-rays during your appointment to evaluate your oral health and have a baseline to compare changes over time.

We take every protective measure to ensure the safety of our patients and will have patients wear lead aprons to further minimize radiation exposure. Dental X-rays are also an essential tool for pediatric dentists to monitor a child’s developing teeth and face. It is often recommended that children and adults have X-rays of their teeth taken every 6 months or every year.
